Your Role as a Senior Transportation Engineer
- Lead geometric roadway design and related transportation engineering from feasibility to IFC, including:
- Urban and rural roadway alignments (horizontal/vertical), cross sections, and corridor layouts.
- Intersection and roundabout conceptual & detailed design, including sight distance, channelization, auxiliary lanes, and access management.
- Active transportation integration (cycling and pedestrian facilities) within new and retrofit corridors.
- Traffic operations analysis and mitigation concepts using Synchro/SIDRA to inform design decisions.
- Applying design criteria and standards, preparing plans and profiles, grading sites, and defining key geometric elements.
- Engaging clients by presenting concepts, alternatives, and design reports to municipal staff, developers, and approval authorities.
- Leading delivery by managing scope, schedule, and budget; conducting QA/QC reviews; and coordinating with survey, utilities, drainage, and structures teams.
- Mentoring graduates and technologists, sharing best practices, and evolving design templates and processes.
- Leveraging core tools including:
- Civil 3D
- AutoCAD / MicroStation / OpenRoads
- Synchro / SIDRA
- AutoTurn
- VBA Scripting
