Category Analyst

The Advocate Group are exclusively supporting a premium food brand in seeking a commercially astute Category Analyst to strengthen its Category & Insight capability across Grocery, Wholesale and Foodservice channels

This is a high-impact role supporting across both UK and International territories – the business is currently performing very well delivering significant growth across all channels (both UK and Internationally). This Category Analyst role is a new hire to strength the category and insights function and support continued growth!

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse category and customer performance using NielsenIQ, Kantar and retailer data platforms
• Identify performance drivers across distribution, ROS, pricing, promotions, NPD and seasonality
• Deliver actionable insight to support JBPs, sell-in decks and commercial strategy
• Evaluate trade activations and promotional effectiveness
• Monitor competitor activity and innovation pipelines
• Produce quarterly international category updates and distributor-ready insight decks
• Act as a centre of excellence for insight and data literacy internally

About You

• Experience in Category, Insights or Commercial Analysis within FMCG
• Working knowledge of NielsenIQ, Kantar and retailer data portals (e.g. dunnhumby, Nectar360,)
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; Power BI advantageous
• Commercially minded, detail-oriented and confident translating data into clear recommendations
• Comfortable influencing cross-functionally
