Our client, a leading independent accountancy practice in the South East, is focused on building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, and supporting businesses to achieve their goals.

They are seeking a forward thinking Manager to join their Business Services team. The role will be based in Brighton and will involve managing a varied client portfolio, while also playing an active role in developing trainees and senior team members.

The position reports to a Client Service Partner and may also offer involvement in business development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of growing business clients, including reviewing assignments and providing clear, practical advice where required
  • Ensuring all client deadlines are met accurately and on time
  • Attending client meetings both in person and via video calls
  • Supporting the Client Service Director with billing processes and monitoring work in progress
  • Assisting Partners and Directors with project based assignments as needed
  • Leading, motivating, training and developing trainees, seniors and colleagues, including line management responsibilities
  • Opportunities to attend networking events and support new client meetings alongside senior fee earners

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA qualified with a minimum of two years post qualification experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong working knowledge of a range of accounting systems, including cloud based platforms
  • Ambitious, proactive and passionate about delivering high quality client service
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on teamwork
  • Experience in developing and supporting team members
  • Highly organised, enthusiastic and self motivated
  • Line management experience would be beneficial
