Job ref: PE210426 Job type: Permanent Location: Newry Closing date: Tuesday 05 May 2026 17:00 Job Overview The Project Engineer will support the Engineering Projects team in the delivery of capital, upgrade, and process improvement projects within Norbrook Laboratories Ltd. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, in compliance with GMP and regulatory standards, while providing technical support across all phases of project planning, design, installation, and commissioning. Main Activities/Tasks Support the Engineering Projects team in the planning, design, execution, and close-out of engineering projects. Prepare project documentation, drawings, specifications, and reports to meet internal and regulatory requirements. Assist in project scheduling, resource coordination, cost monitoring, and risk management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, QA, Maintenance, and external contractors to ensure smooth project delivery. Contribute to project meetings, providing technical input, progress updates, and identifying potential issues or risks. Support commissioning, qualification, and handover of systems, ensuring compliance with GMP and internal procedures. Perform hands-on engineering tasks as required by the project scope. Review technical designs, specifications, and installation plans to ensure compliance with project requirements, GMP, and safety standards. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during project execution and commissioning. Ensure all engineering activities and project records are documented, controlled, and audit-ready in accordance with GMP, regulatory, and company standards. Support the development and updating of project-related documentation. Follow all Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments when performing project or engineering tasks. Participate in post-project reviews, sharing lessons learned and best practices. Provide technical support to other engineering and maintenance teams as required to support ongoing operations. Any other duties as deemed necessary by management. Essential Criteria: Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Chemical, or related discipline). Proven experience supporting engineering or capital projects within a regulated environment (e.g. pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing). Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and regulatory requirements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams and external contractors. Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and familiarity with engineering/document control systems. Desirable Criteria: Previous experience in commissioning, qualification, and validation of systems Knowledge of project management methodologies Experience working in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
