Salary: £27k- £32k DOE per annum

We’re working with a well-established, design-led interiors brand based in Leeds who are on the lookout for a Content Writer.

This fast-paced role is ideal for a wordsmith, someone who can write with clarity and incisiveness, and that can create stunning copy for all audiences, while maintaining a house style and consistent tone of voice.

Working alongside both our internal and external stakeholders, your primary responsibility will be using this writing ability to create compelling and eye-catching product listings on our website. This includes researching and writing informative, persuasive and engaging descriptions that provides customers with all they need to know to make a purchase, as well as creating and adding imagery and videos that truly showcases the products. You will also need to have the ability to turn complicated and technical information into simple copy for all to understand.

Additionally, will also be managing existing and older products to keep information fresh and up-to-date, ensuring that the latest information is always provided, and helping to mitigate customer service issues.

You will also support our wider marketing team with creation of new brand and product categories, writing SEO-optimised content to assist with our overall digital marketing strategy.

This role also provides long-term opportunities to assist across multiple channels and platforms, including creating guides, videos, and social media content for our in-house magazine and customer buying guides, as well as support the wider marketing team by generating copy for other channels such as email marketing. Any demonstrable experience and skills in these areas would be hugely beneficial for the successful candidate.

The Role

  • Listing and addition of new products to the website using our bespoke in-house CMS
  • Writing engaging and exciting product copy to accompany products being listed
  • Editing and creation of any supplier-provided or in-house imagery, visual assets and videos
  • Updating and checking of stock availability on products alongside our sales team
  • Liaising with external stakeholders and brands to obtain any missing product information, required assets, or to clarify any information
  • Managing existing products to ensure they are up-to-date with updated copy, and that any new information or product changes are added from new brochures
  • Price checking and management, updating any price increases or decreases
  • Creation of product and brand categories using SEO best practise, alongside optimised written copy
  • Writing and creation of content for our blog/magazine in terms of guides, videos, and visual assets
  • Ability to support with ongoing sales and marketing campaigns in terms of email marketing, social media and more.

Essential skills & Attributes

  • Excellent written communication skills including grammar, punctuation and syntax
  • Strong verbal skills to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent proofreading skills and ability to check own work, since you will be listing products independently
  • Time management and efficiency as you will need to upload products at pace
  • Knowledge of Content Management Systems / basic content uploading skills
  • Fast-learner since you will need to get to grips with product & technical information quickly
  • An eye for detail, since you will be observing any changes and making corrections/adding changed information
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
  • Excellent organisational skills to be able to plan and manage own workload
  • Some knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and keyword research would be ideal, since you will be writing content that is optimised/maintains SEO best practise.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of bathroom/interior design/home improvement products, trends and styles
  • Use of SEO and keyword research tools such as Semrush
  • Experience of using Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign, Fireworks, Premiere etc) or equivalent creative tools
