About the Company
A long-established, family-led business is seeking a capable and hands-on Head of Finance to take ownership of the finance function and strengthen the reporting, control and financial visibility needed to support the next phase of growth. With a strong reputation in workplace design, planting and related services, this business is entering an important stage in its development. This newly defined leadership role has been created to improve financial control, enhance management information and provide the business with stronger insight and support as it continues to evolve.
About the Role
This is a hands-on finance leadership position suited to someone ready to step into the number one finance role within a growing, owner-managed SME environment.
Responsibilities
- Delivering accurate monthly management accounts with clear commercial insight
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Improving financial reporting, KPIs and profitability visibility
- Embedding robust controls and scalable finance processes
- Overseeing compliance and statutory requirements
- Supporting senior leadership with analysis and decision making
- Taking ownership of the finance function and helping improve financial discipline across the business
You will work directly with the Managing Director and wider leadership team, playing a central role in bringing greater rigour, clarity and control to the finance function.
Qualifications
- A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), or an experienced equivalent
- Experienced in an SME or owner-managed business environment
Required Skills
- Confident owning management accounts end to end
- Strong in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial control
- Hands-on, operationally aware and comfortable working in the detail
- A strong communicator who can engage non-finance stakeholders
- Credible, grounded and well suited to a family business environment
- Motivated by improving and building, not simply maintaining
Preferred Skills
- Experience in project-led, service-led or operational SME environments would be advantageous
Pay range and compensation package
- £70,000–£80,000 + (DOE) base salary
- Bonus
