We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant colleague to join the dedicated team of clinicians in the Nephrology department at Northwick Park Hospital.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting collaboration between London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT). We seek to jointly appoint two trust-based consultant nephrologists at the Northwick Park Hospital site.

Job responsibilities
The post holders will undertake two general nephrology clinics per week within the dedicated renal centre at Northwick Park. The clinic will have a standardised template of 4 new and 8 follow up patients and reflect a mixture of face to face and telephone clinics. The clinic is well supported by specialist nurses and health care assistants.
The job includes taking a share of the on-call work on the Hammersmith Hospital site on a 1-in-10 nephrology rota including weekend ward rounds covering one of the Nephrology inpatient wards (1 DCC). This would involve a daily weekday and weekend ward round and board round at the hospital.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- MRCP or equivalent
- CESR/CCT in Nephrology & GIM or be within 6 months from date of interview
Knowledge
- Appropriate experience and clinical expertise
- IT Skills
Management/Audit Experience
- Evidence of clinical leadership in the development of clinical services
- Evidence of engagement with audit/quality improvement project
Teaching
- Experience and interest in undergraduate teaching and postgraduate teaching
- Formal teaching qualification
Personal skills
- Ability to work well in a team with good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
