Salary: £93,764 - £100,983 (including Market Supplement*) – LA terms & conditions. NHS Pension available for those on the NHSPS

The portfolio for the Consultant in Public Health post will offer a stimulating mix of work with multidisciplinary teams across Walsall, The Black Country and regionally, supporting building the evidence about what works and how we can create communities and an economy that places wellness as the cultural norm. The key areas of responsibility for the post will include leadership of our Children and Young People and Healthcare Public Health portfolios in the first instance, alongside taking on the role of Training and Development lead for the department.

Responsibilities

• You will be actively encouraged to develop your own areas of interest and utilise our excellent links locally, regionally and nationally.
• You will be able to demonstrate experience in building constructive relationships with senior colleagues in local authorities, the NHS and with other partners in complex environments.
• You will provide strategic public health leadership on different work programmes and be able to help transform public health outcomes for Walsall residents.
• You must be included on the GMC Specialist Register in Public Health or the UK Public Health Register for Public Health Specialists, or be in the final stage of your Public Health training.
