Are you an experienced ACP passionate about mental health? We are recruiting for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in Acute & Urgent Care.
The Services Include
- Single Point of Access (SPA) and Mental Health Urgent Care Centre (MHUCC) – based at St Albans or Lister Hospital, Stevenage
- Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) – based at Watford General Hospital

The Role Will
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, carers, and partner organisations to deliver integrated, recovery‑focused care.
- Lead, mentor, and educate colleagues, promoting excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Drive quality improvement, research, and service development initiatives to enhance outcomes.
The Successful Candidate Will
- have an MSc in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) with a Non‑Medical Prescribing qualification.
- have proven experience in mental health with advanced assessment and risk management skills.
- be confident working autonomously in fast‑paced, complex environments.
- have strong leadership, mentorship, and team development capabilities.
- be committed to person‑centred, trauma‑informed, and inclusive care.
In SPA & MHUCC, the Successful Candidate Will
- Deliver advanced assessments, triage, and risk management for complex mental health cases.
- Work across SPA to coordinate referrals, screen and triage new service users, and signpost to statutory and non‑statutory services.
- Provide rapid assessment and brief interventions within MHUCC to support service users in crisis.
In MHLT, the Successful Candidate Will
- Deliver timely mental health assessments in the Emergency Department (within 1 hour) and respond to ward referrals swiftly.
- Reduce hospital admissions, re‑admissions, and lengths of stay by providing expert liaison and support.
- Support acute hospital staff to increase mental health awareness and confidence.
