While leadership experience is an advantage, it’s not essential—we also welcome applications from senior Band 5 nurses ready to progress. Key Responsibilities

• Work with the NNU team in the provision of safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources.
• Promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
• Regularly undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of NNU Sisters and Unit Manager.

• Be a clinical expert within the speciality, with the ability to offer all aspects of nursing care at intensive, high dependency and special care levels.
• Ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based care for infants and their families.
• Ensure that each infant is assessed, their care is planned, implemented and evaluated in negotiation with the family, and that this is accurately documented.
• Promote Family Centred Care and ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring and safe environment for the infants and their families.
• Act as an advocate for the infant and family, ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.

About the Trust
