The Team

The Database Hosting Team, part of Aladdin Platform Engineering, supports the stability, performance, and availability of BlackRock’s core financial systems worldwide.

You’ll work on mission‑critical database platforms, helping to automate, scale, and modernise enterprise systems across on‑prem and cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support and engineer enterprise database platforms (OLTP, OLAP, data warehousing, NoSQL)
  • Help maintain 24×7 availability of global investment systems
  • Build and enhance automation using Python and modern DevOps tooling
  • Leverage AI/LLM tools (e.g. Copilot, Windsurf) to improve monitoring and operations
  • Collaborate with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams globally

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field (preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in database administration or engineering
  • Exposure to one or more of:
    • Databases: Sybase ASE/IQ, SQL Server, Snowflake, Cassandra, Cosmos DB
    • Cloud: Azure, AWS, GCP
    • Automation/DevOps: Python, Java, Go, Ansible, Git, Azure DevOps
  • Strong problemsolving skills, curiosity, and a passion for automation
