We are currently seeking a reliable and organised Weighbridge / Administrative Assistant to join our client's site on a temporary basis. This is a varied office-based role that also involves operating the weighbridge, handling bookings, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a high level of attention to detail and a strong commitment to health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating the weighbridge and ensuring all vehicles are accurately weighed in line with waste acceptance procedures
- Booking in waste collections and managing vehicle data
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of vehicles, waste types, and materials entering and leaving the site
- Managing and organising office files, documents, and records
- Carrying out general clerical and administrative duties
- Answering incoming telephone calls professionally
- Inputting data accurately onto Excel spreadsheets
- Ensuring full and accurate reconciliation between weighbridge records
- Raising purchase orders, including attaching documentation and recording received goods and services
- Taking cash and card payments for trade waste
- Working in a safe manner at all times and complying with health and safety procedures
- Using correct tools, equipment, and PPE, ensuring all items are stored correctly after use
- Reporting any accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, or unsafe conditions to line management
Requirements
- Previous administrative or weighbridge experience (desirable)
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently
- Awareness of health and safety procedures
