About The Role
Working hours: 35 hours per week. Contract type: Permanent. Closing date: 28 April 2026. Interview method: Virtual.

Responsibilities
- Provide professional, customer‑focused specialist technical service supporting over 9,000 users of PCs, laptops, meeting room equipment, mobile phones and tablets across the Manchester City Council network and remotely.
- Support the delivery of technical projects, initiatives and work packages that comply with relevant legislation and help achieve Council policy objectives.
- Develop, design and implement customer‑focused solutions for assigned service area.
- Act as a key team member ensuring high standards of customer service and service delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience of how a support function operates within a large organisation and experience of ServiceNow.
- Experience of Desktop Support and strong technical knowledge of Microsoft products, operating systems and applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues, including hardware break‑fix across a range of device types.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Entra and Active Directory with an understanding of cloud‑based endpoint management.
- Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
- Qualified to ITIL or willing to complete training in post, with practical understanding of core ITIL functions (CM, IM, PM, RM and Configuration Management).
- Required BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance or willingness to undergo checks.
- Two references, preferably covering 3‑year employment history.
