To aid us in our ongoing expansion plans, we are looking to recruit an experiencedContracts Advisor / Contracts Leadbased at our Stockton-on-Tees headquarters,whowill play a key role in managing commercial risk and supporting the successful delivery of projects across the business.
Working closely with technical, project, finance, businessdevelopmentand senior management teamstaking a pragmatic approach tomanagingcontracts with existing customers to minimiseriskwhenwinning new business tosupport our growth into new customers,regionsand sectors.
Our business approach is focussed on building long term relationships with our clients to support them through the full asset life cycle.In this model we engage clients ina number ofways including fixed price, reimbursable and multi-year framework agreements.
The role willoperateUK wide into the target regions:North East,North West, Humber and Scotland and target sectors:Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Energy.

JobSpecification
Responsibilities:
- Managing the commercialon-boardingof new clients and suppliers, including due diligence and approval processes.
- Reviewing,negotiatingand agreeing client and supplier contracts, terms and conditions, frameworks and amendmentstaking a pragmatic approach.
- Meeting with customers to discuss business and legal matters.
- Identifying, advisingonand managing commercial and contractual risks, ensuring alignment with company risk appetite and insurance arrangements.
- Supporting bids,tendersand proposals by reviewing commercial terms, pricingstructuresand contractual obligations.
- Supporting effective supplier and subcontractor management.
- Advising project teams on contractual obligations,entitlementsand dispute avoidance, and supporting resolution where issues arise.
- Developingandmaintainingstandard contract templates, guidancenotesand commercial procedures.
- Supporting governance and compliance activities, including contract registers,auditsand internal approvals.
- Providing commercial guidance and training to internal teams to improve contract awareness and risk management.
- Building andmaintainingstrong working relationships with clients,suppliersand internal stakeholders.
- Support preparation and submission ofstrategic proposalswith the AXIOM teams
- SupportBusiness Development / Account Management personnel during capture planning activities for key proposals, ensuring that winning themes areidentifiedand captured within strategic bids.
- Maintainingcloseinteractionwithseniorleadershipstakeholderswithin AXIOMtoidentifyand implementcommercialimprovements to thecontracts,salesandproposals process, and takeresponsibility for process governance andquality.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of aBachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management,Engineeringor related fieldwith strongcontract law knowledge.
- Previous experience in thecontracts managementideally within the field ofInspectionandEngineering Consultancyservices
- Strong knowledge of AXIOM’score market sectors, such as Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Oil & Gas, Food, Bulk Storage & Distribution, Renewables and Power.
- High attention to detail, negotiation skills, ability to work under pressure, andstrong communicationskills
- Appreciation ofcurrentbest-practice and solutionsgenerationin theaforementioned technicalfields, to aid dialogue with technical personnel both within AXIOMand our client base.
- Professional manner, as the candidate will at times be the sole representative of thebusiness in client interactions.
- Enthusiastic with can-do attitude.
- A valid full UK Driving Licence.
- Computerliterate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Able totravel on occasion to AXIOM’s UK-wide offices and clientsacross the UKto discuss enquiries andsubmittedproposals.
This role will be based at ourHead Office in Stockton-on-Tees. Travel to client sites around the UK, as well as AXIOM’s other offices (Grangemouth, Humber, Runcorn) can be expected periodically as the role will be supporting AXIOM’s overall UK operations.
