Vickerstock are working in patnership with a key manufacturing client on the appointment of a Buyer on a full-time permanent basis.

As the Buyer, oyou will who be heavily involved in supporting operational continuity and driving value across the supply chain. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven procurement professional to join a dynamic forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement of goods, raw materials, components, and services in line with agreed cost, quality, and delivery objectives, utilising the company's MRP/ERP systems.
  • Maintain uninterrupted supply of required materials, proactively identifying and escalating any risks that could impact production or wider business operations.
  • Continuously analyse spend and supplier markets to identify cost-saving opportunities and deliver measurable value improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of robust purchasing policies, procedures, and compliance standards, while promoting best practice across the wider organisation.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies relating to stock, purchase orders, or supplier invoicing, ensuring timely and effective closure.
  • Produce and maintain accurate procurement reports as required, including supplier performance metrics, cost reduction initiatives, and material shortage updates.
  • Ensure Bills of Materials are accurately maintained, working closely with Stores to effectively prioritise and support kitting schedules.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support Just-In-Time (JIT) material availability.
  • Support periodic stock reviews, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement of inventory processes.

About you:

  • 18 months' recent experience in a procurement/supply chain position
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, preferbaly heavy industry.
  • Understanding of MRP/ERP systems
