Finatal is partnering with an award-winning, privately held operating group focused on acquiring and building exceptional UK businesses. With a current portfolio generating over £40m in annual turnover and ambitious plans to reach £100m within three to five years, the firm operates across multiple sectors including healthcare, construction, and property.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth, entrepreneurial investment platform working closely with the Founder & Managing Director. The role offers broad exposure across deal execution and portfolio management within a hands-on, value-driven environment.

The position will focus on supporting the evaluation, execution, and delivery of acquisitions, alongside providing ongoing financial and operational support to portfolio companies to drive value creation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the screening and evaluation of investment opportunities, including CIMs, teasers, and inbound opportunities
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to assess potential investments
  • Prepare high-quality investment materials, including briefing notes, investment memos, and presentations
  • Support due diligence processes across commercial, financial, and operational workstreams
  • Coordinate with external advisors including legal, financial, and due diligence providers
  • Manage deal processes, timelines, and internal coordination
  • Maintain CRM systems and track all deal activity across brokered and proprietary channels
  • Support portfolio companies with financial reporting, KPI tracking, and performance analysis
  • Assist with operational improvement initiatives, including cost optimisation, efficiency gains, and revenue growth strategies
  • Prepare management packs, dashboards, and ad hoc analysis for senior stakeholders
  • Act as a key liaison between the investment team and portfolio company management teams
  • Identify risks and value creation opportunities across the portfolio

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in private equity, investment banking, transaction services, corporate finance, or corporate development
  • Strong financial modelling and analytical skillset
  • Experience supporting deal execution and transaction processes
  • Exposure to portfolio or operational support work is advantageous
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify risks and opportunities
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capability
  • Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Right to work in the UK
