Job Description:

Senior Embedded Software Engineer (Embedded Control – EV)

We’re working with an innovative UK-based electric vehicle company that is rethinking commercial transport from the ground up. This is not a concept-stage business — they already have a working vehicle and are now scaling their technology and team.

They are now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to play a key role in building the software that controls their next-generation electric vehicle platform.

This is a hands-on embedded control role, focused on developing software that directly controls real vehicle systems.

You’ll be involved from early-stage system definition through to implementation, integration and validation — helping shape how the vehicle behaves in the real world.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop embedded software in C for real-time systems
  • Design and implement control logic for vehicle functions
  • Work with CAN and vehicle communication networks
  • Support system integration across powertrain and energy systems
  • Debug and validate software on real hardware
  • Contribute to system architecture and technical decisions
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, systems and integration teams

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience in embedded software development (C)
  • Experience with real-time systems / RTOS
  • Solid understanding of CAN / vehicle communication
  • Direct experience working on electrified systems, such as:
  • Electric drivetrain / motor / inverter
  • Battery systems / BMS
  • Vehicle or energy management systems
  • Experience working on real hardware systems, not just simulation
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-moving environment

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the product — combining embedded software with real-world system behaviour — and wants to play a key role in building something from the ground up.
