Overview
Stantec is looking for Principal Mechanical Engineers for our Energy & Resources team across UK. The role can be based in any UK office, preferably reachable from the Midlands or Newcastle, and involves working on a wide variety of projects including conventional EF&F plants, district heating, gasification projects, hydrogen generation schemes and biogas production projects.
Responsibilities
- Involved in the whole project life cycle from optioneering, through feasibility studies, site surveys and investigations, to detailed design and installation.
- Collaborate with clients, partners, and other team members to develop designs and project-wide solutions across a broad range of projects.
- Produce technical specifications for a variety of technologies such as steam, piping, hydrogen, biomass, and EF&F plants.
- Create specifications and scoping documents for award of construction packages and assess vendor designs and progress.
- Support and contribute to collaborative design outputs, including General Arrangement Drawings, 3D models, and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Communicate technical updates to clients and team members, and ensure continuous improvement in HSE practices.
Qualifications
- Experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Background in the energy/power sector or related process plant sector.
- Either chartered status or working towards chartered status.
- Good understanding of technical specifications, design outputs, and vendor assessment processes.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to clients and team members.
- Commitment to client focus, community-oriented design, collaboration, and service excellence.
