QA test engineer

Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated QA Test Analyst based in the UK? You could be the perfect fit for our Engineering team! As we shift towards an API‑first backend in .Net Core coupled with a React frontend, we are expanding our QA team.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for verifying new functionalities before developing automation tests to integrate into our CI/CD pipelines. This includes both API and UI testing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with other agile development team members to ensure the delivery of a product that meets specifications.
• Develop manual and/or automated test scripts to validate functional and non‑functional requirements throughout the product development life cycle.
• Liaise with other engineers to ensure a joint‑up testing approach.
• Produce descriptive and concise reports that evidence the functionality of a product.
• Work as part of a DevOps/Agile team supporting activities.
• Build and maintain API and UI automation test scripts.

Requirements

• Based in the UK.
• Minimum of 5 years of testing experience, with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Ability to work effectively independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in writing automated tests in Typescript, preferably with experience in tools like Playwright.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
• Proficient in API testing (e.g. RESTful).
• Experience in high‑paced agile environments.
• Solid understanding of Agile software delivery, with the capability to integrate with build pipelines.

Nice to haves

• Any experience working within the insurance or financial markets would be beneficial to help understand compliance requirements.
• Experience working with deployment pipelines (particularly Azure DevOps) would be helpful.
