Funding Projects Officer
Location: Walsall (Hybrid – 2 days office, 3 days home)
Contract: 6‑month contract, £21.65 PAYE / £29.06 Umbrella, 37 hours per week (Mon‑Fri), Start: ASAP.
Overview
We're working with a well‑established public sector organisation to recruit an experienced Funding Projects Officer to support the delivery of high‑impact, externally funded programmes focused on community and economic development.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in fundraising, bid writing, and project delivery, who enjoys working collaboratively with partners across the voluntary, community, and public sectors.
The Role
You’ll play a key role in supporting the design, development, and delivery of funded projects, including involvement in a high‑profile crowdfunding programme. This is a varied position combining funding research, bid development, stakeholder engagement, and programme support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Researching and identifying external funding opportunities
- Supporting the development and submission of high‑quality funding bids
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community organisations
- Delivering workshops, presentations, and advisory support
- Supporting marketing and communications activity, including social media and publicity
- Monitoring project progress, maintaining records, and reporting outcomes
- Contributing to partnership development across sectors to maximise funding opportunities
About You
We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
You’ll ideally have:
- Proven experience in fundraising, bid writing, or securing external funding
- Strong understanding of the VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) sector
- Experience in project or programme delivery
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Confidence delivering presentations, workshops, or stakeholder engagement activity
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Good digital skills, including social media and online communications
Desirable:
- Experience working within local government or public sector environments
- Knowledge of crowdfunding or community funding initiatives
- Relevant project or fundraising qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, IOF)
