Job Description

Trainee Asbestos Analyst – Starting salary National Minimum Wage.

You will receive comprehensive training and continuous support from experienced team members. Upon completion you will be awarded the P403 qualification—an industry‑recognised certification issued by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS). The entry‑level role suits someone enthusiastic, adaptable and keen to learn in a hands‑on environment.

• Complete an intensive 3‑month site and office‑based training programme in asbestos air monitoring.
• Check the level of airborne fibres before starting any work.
• Test for leaks while work is happening to ensure safety measures are effective.
• Carry out air testing after the work to confirm it is safe to remove safety controls and use the area again.
• Report any health and safety concerns to the client and stop work right away if needed.
• Put together a final report with all project details, including waste documents, for the building’s safety file.

Qualifications

• Team player with the ability to work independently as confidence grows.
• Willingness to travel to varied site environments and work at different locations.
• Strong attention to detail and interest in analytical work, particularly using microscopes.
• Strong time management and organisational skills to manage site schedules and meet client deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and working with clients and colleagues.
• A full manual UK driving licence is required.
