Overview

We are a leading independently owned UK holiday-letting company, managing beautiful properties from coast to countryside nationwide. We are looking for a proactive and organised Compliance Officer to join our friendly head office team in Hayle on a full-time basis. The role is central to safeguarding the company’s reputation, protecting guests and owners, and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

We take pride in our portfolio being safe, legal and compliant with current legislation, and in this role, you’ll take responsibility for ensuring that all properties meet relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements. You’ll build strong relationships internally, and with property owners across our expanding portfolio. You’ll support our property team in ensuring new entrants to the marketplace have compliance embedded into every step of their journey. You’ll collaborate with and support colleagues across the business to ensure timely communication of up-to-date regulatory changes and developments, and deliver internal training where required.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure full regulatory compliance across the portfolio
  • Be a point of contact and escalation for colleagues and external stakeholders
  • Support the wider team in preparing evidence for regulatory reporting
  • Monitor changes in UK legislation and understand how this should be implemented within the business
  • Ensure that all contractual arrangements and communications are accurate and up to date in reference to compliance requirements
  • Work with internal teams to achieve accurate knowledge-sharing and consistent standards

About you

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • A proven track record of relationship-building
  • A confident communicator, with experience of objection handling and turning around difficult conversations
  • Proficient in interpreting data and reports to identify compliance coverage, risks and balancing reactive actions with planned works
  • Ability to manage deadlines, competing priorities and a large portfolio whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Able to make informed decisions and take ownership of outcomes
  • Experience of the self-catering industry/property management/relevant Health and Safety legislation would be an advantage
  • Full UK driving licence holder with access to own transport
