Audit and Financial Reporting Senior

Main purpose of job: To manage audit assignments and work with the team on-site and in the office to coordinate and deliver audit assignments.
Reports to: Audit & Financial Reporting Associate Director

Duties & Key Responsibilities
- Key role as part of a team on all the audits.
- Lead alongside the Audit Manager on client relationship and client point of contact for the audit service.
- Planning of the audits with the RI and Audit Manager, assessing risk and guiding the level of testing required in each area.
- Supervision of the audit teams to assist and develop individuals and form relationships with clients, with an on-site presence.
- Oversee the audit plan and ensure the team is on target each day.
- Understand reasons for work taking longer so this can be addressed via training or revised budgeting.
- Enthuse the team to enjoy their time on audit and add value to the client.
- Review and feedback to team on improvements needed.
- Supporting, training and developing Audit Trainees.
- Ensure the team meet deadlines agreed with the RI/Audit Manager and the client.
- Briefing of RI and Audit Manager on all key audit judgements.
- Closing meeting with the client and briefing of Client Partner.
- Develop the team's knowledge and ability by supporting the internal training programme and on the job training.
- Supporting the Client Partners, RI and Audit Manager to develop and build an audit team capable of growth.

- Develop knowledge through selection of relevant CPD.

- Apply regulatory, legal, professional and ethical standards relating to engagements.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong grasp of audit standards.
- Good working knowledge of Excel to prepare formula driven.
- Ability to communicate and ask for help where required.
- Passion to listen and learn new skills.
- Ability to help other team members with less experience.
Knowledge & Experience
- Having gained experience in a similar role with a practice environment.
- Part or newly qualified ACA, ACCA or AAT qualified with 3 years within Audit is preferred.
- Experience of working within a team.
- Computer skills: MS Office applications – Word, Excel, Outlook.
- CA / ACA / ACCA qualified or equivalent (first time passes preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge of UK Financial Reporting Standards.
- Knowledge of IRIS and MyWorkpapers preferred.
