Band 6 Specialist Dietitian – Eating Disorders CYP Division

Main duties of the job
Provide dietetic care to service users within the Community Eating Disorders Service (SEDS). The post holder will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver a comprehensive, holistic service for children and young people (0‑25 years) referred into the team, providing specialist dietetic advice for eating disorders and ARFID, and developing and implementing treatment and refeeding protocols.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct dietetic assessment and develop evidence‑based treatment plans for young people and families.
- Implement refeeding protocols and monitor nutritional rehabilitation.
- Deliver individual and group interventions in a variety of settings including community homes, virtual appointments, clinics and specialist eating disorder pathways.
- Collaborate with other health professionals, educators, carers and families to support treatment goals.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, deliver quality audit and CPD activities, and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
- Provide child protection and safeguarding advice consistent with local policies for the 0‑25 age range.
Qualifications
- Degree-level dietetic qualification.
- HCPC registration.
- Post‑registration experience providing assessment and treatment for patients with eating disorders, including re‑feeding protocols.
- Evidence of CPD and commitment to professional development.
- High level of communication skills, compassion, respect, emotional intelligence and ability to manage challenging situations with resilience.
Experience
- Experience working with eating disorder patients.
- Experience in mental health settings.
- Experience working in community settings.

Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 a year (pro rata).
