The role

As a Principal Supportability Engineer, you lead the delivery of Integrated Product Support across complex nuclear and defence assets. You influence design decisions early, ensuring reliability, maintainability, availability and long‑term supportability are engineered in from the start. This role combines deep technical analysis with strategic thinking, customer engagement and technical leadership.

This is a 37‑hour per week role, based in either Leicester or Bristol with two days in the office and three days working from home.

Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:

• Leading reliability, maintainability and availability analysis to support complex engineering systems
• Developing Integrated Product Support strategies, claims, arguments and supporting evidence
• Advising design and engineering teams to improve asset availability and through‑life supportability
• Communicating complex technical information clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Essential experience of the Principal Supportability Engineer

• Proven experience delivering reliability, maintainability and availability analysis within complex engineering environments
• Strong background in Integrated Product Support or Integrated Logistics Support disciplines
• Experience producing and substantiating supportability claims, arguments and evidence
• Practical knowledge of reliability modelling tools and analytical techniques
• Ability to influence stakeholders and explain complex engineering concepts with clarity

Qualifications for the Principal Supportability Engineer

• Degree, or equivalent experience, in a STEM discipline such as mechanical, electrical, systems, data or mathematics
• Professional registration, or active progression towards registration, with a recognised engineering institution
