We are seeking a Lighting Controls Commissioning Engineer to work across a range of projects, from new build installations to upgrades of existing systems. The role involves the commissioning, set-to-work, troubleshooting, and ongoing aftercare of lighting control systems of varying technical complexity.
This position is primarily field-based, covering London and surrounding areas, and includes both site and occasional remote work.
- Commission and hand over lighting control systems, including installation and configuration of headend systems and IP network devices (routers, gateways, user interfaces).
- Deliver client and end-user training, provide reactive aftercare support, and perform routine preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system faults, connectivity issues, and identify opportunities for system upgrades or enhancements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including daily site reports, health check reports, system backups, and project-specific updates.
- Adhere to health and safety standards, maintaining valid ECS/CSCS cards and completing regular compliance training.
Requirements
- Proven experience commissioning lighting control systems or building management systems (BMS)
- Solid understanding of DALI lighting protocols
- Experience configuring IP networks, including routers and gateways
- Comfortable commuting across London and nearby regions by public transport
- Flexibility to work one Saturday per month and occasional out-of-hours shifts when required
- Ability to lift equipment (up to 10kg), stand for extended periods, and travel daily
