About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance shift Lead Engineer to lead a multi-skilled engineering team within a high-paced production environment. This role is critical to ensuring uptime, maintaining safety standards, and embedding a culture of CI and lean practices across the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers, driving accountability, performance, and engagement.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with IOSH and H&S regulations.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and CI teams to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Report on KPIs and contribute to strategic planning and budget management.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Apprentice trained with a minimum of an HNC in Engineering (electrical or mechanical).
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Lead Engineer within a food or FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of automation systems, conveyors, packaging machinery, and production lines.
  • Demonstrates a proactive and safety-conscious mindset, ideally holding an IOSH qualification.
  • Strong leadership skills – able to motivate and inspire engineering teams.
  • Experienced in driving CI/Lean manufacturing initiatives (5S, root cause analysis, Kaizen, etc.).
