Role Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical expertise, practical problem‑solving skills, and the ability to take ownership of projects from concept through to installation.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of our bespoke mechanical systems, working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor (3D CAD) and AutoCAD (2D CAD)
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and technical documentation
- Lead design projects from concept through to production and installation
- Develop and refine hydraulic systems for submerged structures
- Collaborate with electrical engineers on control systems integration
- Liaise with clients, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and installation partners
- Provide technical support during fabrication and on‑site installation
- Conduct design reviews, testing, and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer (senior level preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of:
- Mechanical engineering principles
- Hydraulic systems
- Electrical control systems
- Construction and installation processes
- Experience designing fabricated stainless‑steel structures is highly desirable
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
