Design Engineer – Market‑Leading Manufacturing Company

Are you an experienced Design Engineer with a passion for innovation? Join a market‑leading manufacturer and be part of a team driving the design and production of cutting‑edge products sold UK wide.

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of 3 years mechanical design experience, along with being involved in designing sheet metal and fabricated products with complex assembly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and manufacture products from concept to production‑ready solutions.
  • Ensure all product designs comply with the latest regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with sales, purchasing, subcontractors, and production teams to create feasible, cost‑effective designs.
  • Manage design projects, timelines, and resources to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide technical support for sales with customer quote drawings and bespoke solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design methods and production procedures.
  • Adopt a hands‑on approach to problem‑solving during the design and manufacturing process.
  • Maintain technical documentation, including CAD drawings and compliance records.
  • Visit local production sites to assist with design clarifications and problem‑solving.

Person Profile

  • Relevant engineering qualification (Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field).
  • Minimum of 4 years experience, ideally with sheet metal and with products involving complex assembly.
  • Proficient in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor or similar).
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance processes, and industry standards.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non‑technical audiences.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Creative, innovative, and solutions‑oriented with attention to detail.
