We are currently hiring for an experienced Pensions Technical SME to join a high-profile pensions project on an initial 6-month contract basis.
This role is ideal for someone with strong UK pensions technical knowledge, experience working with Defined Benefit schemes, and expertise in pension calculations, scheme rules, and current legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and work from Benefit Specifications (Ben Specs)
- Interpret scheme rules for retirement and death benefit calculations
- Perform and validate complex pension calculations
- Handle GMP-related calculations and queries
- Provide technical SME support to project and operational teams
- Ensure compliance with scheme rules and current legislation
- Support pensions change and remediation activity
Required Experience
- Strong UK pensions administration / technical pensions background
- Experience with Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes
- Strong knowledge of retirement and death calculations
- Experience interpreting Trust Deeds, Rules, and Benefit Specs
- Knowledge of GMP calculationsUp-to-date understanding of pensions legislation including:
- LTA abolition
- Annual Allowance considerations
Preferred Background
- Pensions SME / Technical Analyst / Senior Pensions Administrator
- Experience in pensions consulting, administration, insurance, or in-house pensions teams
- Previous contract experience preferred
