Assistant Project Manager – Southern Water Framework (CMDP+ Joint Venture)
We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Southern Water Framework. As part of the CMDP+ joint venture, you will support the delivery of a £1 bn capital programme over five years to enhance Southern Water’s water supply and wastewater treatment works across South and Southeast England.
Responsibilities
- Assist with and maintain systems for effective planning and scheduling.
- Support project controls and generate project reports.
- Maintain project file management with robust version control; organise key project meetings and provide secretariat support.
- Manage staff as appropriate, including their development.
- Maintain the stakeholder log and serve as focal point for project responses to external requests for information.
- Monitor project spend, contribute to budget compilation and maintain an accurate asset register.
- Maintain risk and issue logs, escalating as appropriate.
Essential Qualifications
- Degree‑level qualification in Civil Engineering or allied subject, or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training.
- Understanding of engineering principles.
- Knowledge of construction contract law and forms of contract through experience and formal training.
- Computer competence (MS Word, Excel, document control system, Primavera).
- Training in Health & Safety and Environmental management.
- Current driving licence.
- Water industry experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering.
- MICE or MAPM qualification.
- Strong computer skills.
- Vocational training in project management.
