Quality Inspector – Mechanical / Precision Engineering

Aegina Technologies – Southmoor Lane, Havant, PO9

Full‑Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week

Monday‑Thursday: 07:30‑16:00; Friday: 07:30‑12:30

Salary: Circa £14‑£16 per hour (DOE). Start: Immediate start available.

Aegina Technologies is a precision engineering manufacturer based in Havant, specialising in the subcontract production of high‑accuracy components and assemblies. We supply safety‑ and performance‑critical industries including aerospace, oil & gas and subsea engineering, operating to stringent quality requirements within an AS9100‑accredited quality management system.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Quality/Mechanical Inspector to join our busy production and quality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in‑process, first‑off, and final inspection of precision‑engineered components.
  • Carry out visual and dimensional inspections using hand tools and CMM equipment.
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Produce and manage quality documentation including FAIRs, NCRs, SCARs, and related reports.
  • Upload and submit documentation via customer portals within required deadlines.
  • Verify material certifications and ensure full compliance with specifications.
  • Record, investigate, and support resolution of non‑conformances.
  • Support internal and external audits (including NQA audits).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and quality system development.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings experience, accuracy and confidence in a precision engineering setting.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a quality inspection role within engineering/manufacturing.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Hands‑on experience with inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality standards (advantageous).
  • Experience using Aberlink CMM (preferred but not essential).
  • A highly methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail.
