Job Title: Junior Quality Assurance Technician (Entry Level / Graduate Opportunity)

Location: Ashford

Contract: Temporary to permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Pay rate: £12.95 per hour

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Junior Quality Assurance Technician to join a reputable food manufacturing business and support their Quality team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone starting out in their career, or a recent school leaver / graduate, who has an interest in food, science or quality and is looking to gain hands‑on experience within the food manufacturing industry. Full training will be provided, making this role well suited to candidates keen to learn and develop within a technical or QA environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Sampling and testing of raw materials in line with quality procedures
• Carrying out routine quality tests, including:
• Sugar solids
• pH testing
• Colour checks
• Water activity (AW)
• Spread testing
• Yeast and mould testing
• Accurately recording and logging results on internal quality systems
• Assisting with the creation and maintenance of quality documentation and certificates
• Supporting the team in maintaining high food safety and quality standards

About You

• A genuine interest in building a career within food manufacturing, quality assurance, or food science
• Basic understanding or interest in food, nutrition, science or raw materials
• Educated in food science or a related subject OR experience working within food manufacturing, production, catering, or hospitality would be desirable
• Willingness to learn, reliable and able to follow procedures
• Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
