ILS Manager (Through-Life Support) – Defence / Aerospace – Bristol (Hybrid)

Salary – Flexible DOE

Location – Central Bristol / Hybrid

We’re working with an innovative defence technology organisation at the forefront of uncrewed and autonomous systems.

They are looking for an ILS / Through-Life Support Manager to lead supportability, sustainment, and in-service performance across a complex defence capability. This is a key role ensuring systems remain safe, available, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle, working across engineering, supply chain, and operational teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and deliver Through-Life Support / ILS strategy
  • Lead supportability engineering (R&M, maintenance planning, obsolescence)
  • Coordinate support activities across supply chain → customer delivery
  • Monitor in-service performance, reliability & availability
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with MOD frameworks, DEF STANs, safety & airworthiness
  • Produce and manage technical documentation

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience in ILS / TLS / Supportability within defence or complex engineering
  • Strong understanding of MOD acquisition frameworks (CADMID / CADMIT)
  • Experience across RCM, LORA, configuration management
  • Ability to manage suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment

Nice to have:

  • Background in aerospace, robotics, or autonomous systems (UAS)
  • Experience with digital support tools / LSAR systems
  • Relevant qualifications (Engineering, Systems, Logistics) or accreditation (CEng / CMILT)
