Role Overview
- Act as a primary point of contact for trade and retail customers, providing expert guidance on sheeting and roofing solutions
- Advise customers on product selection based on technical requirements, specifications, regulations, and budget considerations
- Deliver consistently high‑level customer service, ensuring repeat business and long‑term customer loyalty
- Manage sales orders end‑to‑end, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company processes
- Handle cash transactions, card payments, invoicing, and associated documentation with precision
- Confidently respond to complex product and technical queries, resolving issues professionally and effectively
- Proactively identify upselling, cross‑selling, and value‑added opportunities during customer interactions
- Build, maintain, and grow strong relationships with key customers and regular trade clients
- Support daily trade counter operations, ensuring the area remains clean, organised, and customer‑ready at all times
- Contribute to product knowledge sharing, best practice, and continuous improvement within the team
- Engage in ongoing product training to stay current with industry developments and innovations
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 5 years’ proven experience in a sales‑focused role, ideally within a trade or B2B environment
- Strong background within the roofing, construction, or building materials industry (Preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and influence purchasing decisions
- High level of confidence providing technical product advice and recommendations
- Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer‑focused approach
- Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset toward sales growth
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with minimal supervision and taking ownership of outcomes
- Good IT skills and experience using sales systems or order‑processing tools
