We are looking for a Mechanical Work Pack Engineer to support the safe and efficient delivery of complex mechanical installation and maintenance activities within a highly regulated environment. You will be responsible for preparing detailed work packs that enable site teams to execute work safely, compliantly, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality mechanical work packs including method statements, risk assessments, and task breakdowns
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and scope documents
  • Ensure all work packs comply with relevant procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with engineering, planning, and site teams to ensure accurate and deliverable scopes
  • Identify materials, tooling, and resource requirements for each task
  • Support constructability reviews and ensure works are sequenced efficiently
  • Manage and update work packs in line with project changes and site feedback
  • Provide technical support to site teams during execution
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and ready for execution (including permits, ITPs, and quality documentation)

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a Mechanical Work Pack Engineer or similar role
  • Strong background in mechanical engineering, ideally within construction, maintenance, or infrastructure projects
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and documentation
  • Experience developing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
  • Understanding of quality requirements, inspection points, and documentation
  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, oil & gas, or similar)
  • Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination

Desirable:

  • Experience with piping, fabrication, or mechanical installation scopes
  • Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and site execution processes
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
