Consultant Radiologist – Chest Radiology
Applications are invited for a Consultant Radiologist post with an interest in chest radiology. This post results from the expansion of service with the introduction of Community Diagnostic Centres. The post will be a substantive contract.
Croydon Healthcare NHS Trust is a busy DGH with a strong and developing imaging network in South West London.
Role Overview
- The post holder will work with our current thoracic imaging lead and work closely with the busy Croydon Chest Clinic.
- Participation in weekly general respiratory and lung cancer MDMs.
- Large subspecialist commitment to TB and lung cancer.
- Monthly ILD MDM and expanding nurse lead lung nodule service.
- Lung cancer MDT includes specialist oncology and thoracic surgical input from local centres at the Royal Marsden, Sutton and St George’s.
Facilities
- Croydon University Hospital, Purley War Memorial Hospital and a new Community Diagnostic Centre in New Addington.
- Radiology Department with new equipment: 8 new ultrasound units, a Cone Beam CT dental unit, plain x‑ray room and a CT replacement.
Job Plan
The post is available with an illustrative job plan of 10 programmed activities: 8.5 Direct Clinical care sessions and 1.5 SPA. A minimum of 4 PAs will be dedicated to each subspecialty interest. There is a 1 in 14 on‑call commitment with overnight cover (8pm to 8am) provided by a tele‑radiology service.
The job plan may be adapted by agreement, with the possibility of part‑time working.
