An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Paralegal or Newly Qualified Solicitor to join a well-established and supportive law firm within their Medical Negligence team.

The Role

You will act as a fee earner, supporting clients through medical negligence claims while delivering a professional and efficient legal service. This is a varied role involving client interaction, case management, legal drafting, and research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking client instructions via telephone and in person
  • Managing new enquiries and preparing initial documentation
  • Conducting risk assessments, due diligence, and conflict checks
  • Maintaining accurate case files and detailed records
  • Investigating claims, including obtaining and reviewing medical records
  • Preparing legal documentation including Letters of Claim and Witness Statements
  • Liaising with Counsel, experts, and third parties
  • Attending conferences and hearings where required
  • Carrying out legal research to support case progression
  • Keeping clients updated throughout the lifecycle of their claim

About You

  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience in medical negligence
  • Strong organisational and case management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, resilient, and client-focused approach
  • Good understanding of legal terminology and processes
