Our client has undergone a transformative shift in its marketing activities, transitioning from predominantly brand ATL (and award winning) approaches, to a dynamic, performance‑led strategy directly aimed at boosting sales figures. This role presents a unique chance to engage in one of the most integrated client‑agency relationships in the UK, offering an immersive experience with the client’s business.
As a Business Director you’ll enjoy unparalleled access to the full suite of WPP capabilities and teams which make up WPP Team – spanning media, data, CX and insights. You’ll play a pivotal role working with the Performance Lead to demonstrate how to leverage these capabilities to influence creative strategies, and to ultimately generate leads for our client's dealerships. Please note: the UK clients are based in Dunton, Essex and a key requirement of the role is that the successful candidate work alongside the client team in Dunton each Monday and Tuesday. The remaining office days will be spent working from Sea Containers each Wednesday, and our Rose Court offices each Thursday.
The Responsibilities
- The Campaign and Content Lead has ultimate responsibility for delivering WPP marketing services to our client.
- They play a pivotal role with the orchestration and delivery of all campaigns across both Brand and Performance, working closely with the Media teams to deliver the campaigns.
- They work in partnership with the Performance Lead, Media Planner and Live Planner in the strategic direction and decisioning.
- They will lead the team operationally to ensure the team is focused on the right objectives and results and is delivering against the objectives and tasks required.
- They work with our client's central teams to ensure local activity is supported and local activity is compliant with legal and governance rules.
Key Tasks
Campaign Delivery Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the meticulous, end‑to‑end execution of integrated marketing campaigns for our client, ensuring timely, on‑budget delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external agencies (creative, media, production) throughout the campaign lifecycle.
- Work alongside the performance lead to leverage campaign tracking, reporting, and optimization, using data to drive continuous improvement.
Asset Creation & Content Strategy Oversight
- Direct the development and production of a diverse range of marketing assets, including digital content (video, social, web), print materials, radio campaigns, out‑of‑home advertising, and experiential elements.
- Ensure all assets are meticulously crafted, align with global brand guidelines, UK market nuances, and legal requirements.
- Manage relationships with creative agencies, production houses, and internal design teams to deliver assets of exceptional quality and impact.
Creative Briefing For Partnerships & Local Campaigns
- Develop compelling, insightful, and actionable creative briefs that inspire the creative team to produce innovative and effective marketing solutions.
- Specifically focus on crafting briefs for strategic brand partnerships that expand our client's reach and relevance within the UK market.
- Lead the creative direction and briefing process for localised campaigns, ensuring cultural resonance and effectiveness in specific regions or demographics within the UK.
Performance Marketing Team Support & Asset Provision
- Act as a proactive and collaborative partner to the performance marketing team, understanding their ongoing and evolving asset requirements.
- Ensure the timely delivery of high‑quality, conversion‑optimised creative assets for all paid media channels (search, social, display).
- Work closely with performance specialists to facilitate A/B testing of creative, interpreting results to inform future asset development and optimisation strategies.
Strategic Input & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Contribute to the overarching marketing strategy for our client, identifying market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights.
- Foster strong collaborative relationships with product marketing, sales, central marketing teams, legal, and other key business units to ensure integrated and consistent messaging.
- Champion best practices in campaign management, content creation, and creative development across the marketing department.
Requirements
- Proven track record of successfully leading and executing complex, integrated marketing campaigns from conception through to evaluation.
- Deep expertise in the creative localisation process, including agency management, brief writing, creative review, and production across multiple channels (digital, social, ATL, BTL).
- Demonstrable experience in developing creative strategies for brand partnerships and localised campaigns.
- Strong understanding of performance marketing principles and the specific creative asset requirements for various digital advertising platforms.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
- Budget management experience, with a focus on delivering value.
- A natural leader and motivator, with the ability to inspire teams and agencies.
