Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position based in Scunthorpe for a First Team Grounds Manager. The Grounds Manager will maintain and ensure high-quality playing surfaces and training facilities for the first team, managing day-to-day pitch maintenance, including mowing, fertilization, irrigation systems, and line marking. Responsibilities also include supervising the grounds staff team, developing maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role demands excellent planning to ensure optimal playing conditions and proper care of all club grounds and landscapes.
Qualifications
- Experience in Grounds Management, Turf Maintenance, and Landscaping
- Proficiency in managing and maintaining Irrigation systems
- Strong Supervisory Skills and the ability to lead a team effectively
- Knowledge of Health and Safety practices specific to ground maintenance
- Relevant qualifications in turf management, sports turf science, or a related field
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and facility maintenance
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and match days as required
