About the role
The Cyber Security Graduate will support cyber security controls and processes, assisting to protect the firm's information assets and IT infrastructure against internal and external threats. The role is part of Addleshaw Goddard's global IT team based in London, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh.
Responsibilities
- Check alerts from security systems and help monitor for unusual activity or potential threats.
- Support investigation of incidents, gathering information, analysing and documenting findings.
- Participate in vulnerability scanning to identify weaknesses and track remediation progress.
- Review and help update security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration and maintenance of computers and systems.
- Research latest cyber security threats and trends and share insights with the team.
- Engage in learning and development through training sessions and shadowing colleagues.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to contribute ideas and help keep systems and data safe.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2:1 degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject; undergraduates must graduate before September 2026.
- Knowledge or experience of Cyber Security qualifications or certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt style to audience.
- Team player, organised, adept at time management, and willing to learn new technologies.
- Problem‑solving mindset, analytical capabilities, and attention to detail.
- Motivation to succeed within Cyber Security and awareness of common cyber threats and attack vectors.

Hybrid working model: minimum three days per week in the office (specific office attendance may vary by role and business needs). The role will begin on Monday 5 October with induction in the Manchester office.
