Senior Python Developer / Software Engineer (Python SQL IaC AWS)

London, 12‑month Fixed‑term Contract to £180k

Are you a data‑savvy Senior Python Developer with strong SQL skills and finance experience?
You could be progressing your career in a hands‑on Senior Python Developer role at a tech‑driven, global Asset Manager with multiple billions of dollars under management.

Responsibilities

• Join a small team responsible for the data platform used by Quants and Analysts, a modern, self‑service development and analytics environment that integrates compute, data access, tooling and deployment pathways.
• Act at the intersection of platform engineering, data engineering and developer experience, enabling others.
• Work directly with stakeholders and users to identify opportunities, troubleshoot issues and deliver platform capabilities that improve the quality, speed and reliability of analytical functions.
• Seek continuous improvement and keep up with evolving technology stacks.

Qualifications

• Skilled Python Developer with strong experience delivering data‑centric production systems
• Experience within an Investment Management or financial services environment
• Advanced skills with Python, SQL, Terraform and AWS (C# .Net benefits but not essential)
• Experience with data pipelines and orchestration (Dagster preferred)
• Proven ability to work with stakeholders and users to understand problems and build solutions
• Comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Codex) and integrating them into user workflows
• Familiar with ML workflows, Snowflake and PaaS
• Academic achievement of 2.1 or above from a top‑tier university in a STEM discipline
