Job Overview
This role is for a Civil Engineering focused Project Manager who will manage projects across our Southampton ports valued between £50,000 and £20 million. You will be responsible for commissioning, procurement, delivery and hand‑over of infrastructure works such as dock walls, portal frame sheds, rail, drainage, pavements, jetties, and dredging operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop project plans from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling and resource allocation.
- Lead procurement activities and manage contractor and consultant works.
- Ensure all health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements are met.
- Coordinate delivery of assets such as docks, sheds, rail layouts, drainage, pavements, jetties and major dredging works.
- Provide regular status reporting and stakeholder communication.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related subject.
- Demonstrated experience delivering civil engineering projects of comparable scale.
- Strong commitment to Health & Safety with experience overseeing contractor and consultant works.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Chartered member or currently working toward membership (ideal).
- Experience in marine infrastructure projects highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; enthusiasm and confidence.

- Experience of contract management.
- PC literate with experience in Word and Excel.
