Job Purpose:
As the Credit Control Team Leader, your primary role is to establish, lead and manage the Credit Control function within Everest for the UK and Ireland. You will drive standardized procedures, implement Key Performance Indicators and SLAs, and proactively manage the Off-Shore team to ensure accounts are serviced to a high standard and within deadlines. Your role is essential in creating a culture of continuous improvement using process excellence and contributing to the broader success of the Group Operations and Finance Team. You will also be liaising regularly with the Underwriters and working with them for their respective portfolios for escalations and in managing the debt position. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the collection and processing of all monies owed to Everest in an accurate and timely manner, reducing Bad Debt exposure, and improving cash flow and investment income.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish and maintain efficient Credit Control process execution in line with offshoring, policy, process, and governance requirements.
- Establish relationship with the Underwriters and work closely with them for their respective portfolio in managing the escalation process and the outstanding debt position.
- Lead the Off-Shore Credit Control team, providing guidance and support to ensure the team meets their targets and objectives.
- Produce all reports relating to the Credit Control for stakeholders including various committees, Underwriters, Finance and Board level.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear and regular communication with Brokers, Cover holders, Finance, IT & Data Management, Underwriting teams, and Group Operations management.
- Collaborate with Operations and Finance management to identify opportunities for cost reduction, improved quality, and timeliness in services.
Technology Integration:
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including IT, Operations, Finance, and Data Management, to ensure the Group's needs and requirements are integrated into technology roadmaps.
Issue Resolution:
- Take ownership of ad hoc day-to-day credit control issues, defining and implementing effective solutions.
- Resolve cash-related queries on Xchanging messaging and direct settlements, incidents, and problems within agreed timelines.
- Facilitate internal and external audits or respond to other audit requests by providing timely and accurate information.
Ad Hoc Tasks:
- Perform any other ad hoc tasks as defined and agreed upon with the Credit Control Manager.
- Ensure all functions are performed in accordance with Everest policies and specific procedure manuals, as amended from time to time.
Training and Workshops:
- Organize and facilitate workshops for training or data gathering purposes to enhance the team's skills and performance.
Person Specification:
- Significant experience in the insurance industry, preferably in a similar leadership role.
- Possess an excellent market experience and a contact base for dealing with Underwriters and Operations credit control teams.

- Familiarity with Document Management & Workflow systems (desirable but not essential).
- Knowledge of Management Information tools (desirable but not essential).
- Language Skills: Good English (written and oral)
