Job overview
Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Ophthalmology service provides a number of services across different settings in North London.
Position
We are recruiting into a full-time Band 5 position in our ophthalmology department at Edgware Community Hospital. The post involves multi-site work on Wednesdays at Chasefarm Hospital and Fridays in the morning at Barnet Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Assess and plan care needs for ophthalmic patients in clinic and day surgery settings.
- Assess patients and prepare them for doctors’ assessment in clinics.
- Work in nurse-led clinics, including pre-operative assessment, intravitreal injection, and fundus fluorescein angiography clinics.
- Operate across multiple hospital sites: Edgware, Chasefarm, and Barnet.
Qualifications
- Full NMC registration or be a student nurse awaiting PIN.
- Previous experience in ophthalmology is an advantage but not essential; full training will be provided.
- Not suitable for nurses requiring OSCE.
Working Hours
Full time, five days a week (Monday to Friday). Hours typically start around 08:00 and finish by 18:00.
