Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care

Holmfirth, Huddersfield (HD9)

At Madiba, we’re passionate about doing children’s residential care the right way. We’re a fast‑growing, values‑led provider of complex care across Yorkshire — and we’re on the lookout for an experienced Registered Manager to lead one of our multi‑occupancy Holmfirth homes.

This isn’t just about managing a service. It’s about building a culture, developing people, and creating a home where children feel safe, supported, and genuinely cared for.

If you’re ambitious, compassionate, and ready to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days are the same, but you’ll be:

  • Leading, motivating, and developing a brilliant team of Team Leaders and Residential Support Workers
  • Creating strong rotas, overseeing inductions, training, and performance (and doing it fairly and consistently)
  • Making sure care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding records are always up to scratch
  • Managing budgets, staffing levels, and the smooth running of the home
  • Working closely with senior leaders to achieve (and maintain!) Good or Outstanding OFSTED outcomes
  • Most importantly — creating a nurturing, trauma‑informed environment where young people can truly thrive

What You’ll Bring

You’ll likely already have:

  • Experience supervising staff in a multi‑occupancy children’s residential setting
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager (or similar role)
  • Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviours
  • Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare — or willingness to complete it within 2 years (we’ll fund it!)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A calm, resilient, and consistent approach grounded in trauma‑informed care
  • Flexibility to support the rota when needed (teamwork matters here)

Why Join Madiba?

We look after our people just as much as the children we support:

  • Fully funded Level 5 Diploma
  • Flexible working options
  • 28 days holiday + enhanced bank holiday pay
  • Enhanced overtime rates
  • Healthcare cash scheme & health insurance package
  • Company pension & free parking
  • Casual dress code (because comfort matters)
  • Meals on shift + access to our discretionary food bank
  • Ongoing training, CPD, and rapid career progression
  • Company events and a genuinely supportive, values‑driven culture
  • Refer a friend bonus: £150 upfront + £350 after probation
  • Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time
  • All offers are subject to satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check

If you’re ready to lead with compassion, build something meaningful, and be part of a growing organisation that values you — this could be your next step.
