Job Summary
Location: East, Hybrid with travel as required.
Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am-5pm.
Salary: £47,328 per annum (including car allowance).
This role is for a Senior Leasehold & Homeownership Officer who will act as the main escalation point for complex, high‑risk, or technically challenging cases, providing guidance, coaching, and support to colleagues, and ensuring customers receive accurate, timely information.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist knowledge on leasehold and homeownership legislation, service delivery, and customer requirements.
- Act as the main escalation point for complex, high‑risk, or technically challenging cases related to lease interpretation, service charges, property management, ASB, and income.
- Guide, coach, and support colleagues to handle complex issues confidently.
- Contribute to a joined‑up approach across Housing and Leasehold to deliver a seamless service for mixed‑tenure sites.
- Build and maintain relationships with external managing agents and 3rd‑party providers.
- Support the national network of leasehold and homeownership professionals, sharing best practice and working on organisation‑wide initiatives.
- Engage with communities for inspections, resident engagement, and relationship‑building.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable understanding of leasehold and homeownership legislation, service delivery, and customer requirements.
- Experience supervising or leading others, including supporting behaviours, coaching, and contributing to performance management.
- Proven ability to deliver a service that is responsive, empathetic, and focused on achieving the best outcomes for homeowners.
- Understanding of service charge processes, income collection, and resolving payment‑related disputes.
- Able to balance competing priorities, manage deadlines, and maintain service quality in a fast‑paced environment.
- Confident handling complex or technical queries, interpreting leases, and providing guidance to colleagues.
- Relevant qualification (e.g., CIH Level 4/IRPM/RICS) or willingness to work towards it.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel across the region is required.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £46,078 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements, with a starting salary 5% or 10% below this rate available for those still developing skills, and clear support for progression to the full amount.
