Job Role
As a Production Manager, you will lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Your leadership, planning ability, and operational discipline will be key to success in this role.
Reporting to the Production & Operations Director, you will manage two direct reports and oversee a team of 30–50 staff during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate production to meet deadlines and targets
- Develop schedules and manage workflows to maximise efficiency
- Monitor output, improve processes, reduce waste, and control costs
- Resolve operational issues quickly to maintain production continuity
- Ensure products meet strict quality standards
- Lead, manage, and develop production teams, including performance management
- Promote a culture of accountability, high standards, and continuous improvement
- Maintain health & safety compliance and safe working practices
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure material availability
- Work closely with logistics and sales to meet delivery commitments
- Track performance and report on production metrics to senior management
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments
- Excellent planning, organisation, and coordination ability
- Comfortable using IT systems, including Microsoft Office
