Overview

Due to continued business growth and development, we are looking for a Project Commercial Manager to play a key role within our project management team in the north of the UK. You will work across Energy, Water, and Resources projects, supporting wider infrastructure delivery. Ideally you will have experience working within multidisciplinary teams, with a collaborative approach and the ability to support and provide guidance to junior team members. We are seeking a candidate with curiosity, strong personal drive, and technical expertise. Experience within the UK energy, water, civil engineering, or transport sectors is desirable, alongside an understanding of the design project lifecycle from feasibility through to delivery. With an increase in design and build (D&B) work, additional commercial capacity is required to effectively manage commercial risk and support successful project delivery. The role will support Project Managers and Project Directors in commercial management activities and contribute to the development and implementation of best practice across our services in collaboration with commercial leadership. You will be required to support project commercial negotiations, manage fee reconciliations and applications, and review contracts. You will also provide commercial advice and guidance to bid and project managers. The role is not limited to these responsibilities and may evolve to meet the needs of the business and support continuous improvement across projects. There is also potential for future progression into commercial leadership roles on major projects and contributing to best practice across the UK region.

Qualifications

  • Strong track record in the infrastructure sector with substantial relevant experience
  • Detailed experience in working with the NEC4 suite of contracts, including PSC and ECC
  • Experience preparing financial and commercial inputs for projects and fee proposals
  • Knowledge of a design consultant’s cost base and experience working with open book contracts
  • Experience supporting negotiations and settlement of claims
  • Knowledge of the use of Earned Value Management
  • Experience of scheduling and planning process, including critical path analysis
  • Degree qualified relevant infrastructure industry experience with a professional qualification
