Job Description:

The Bridge Academy is seeking to appoint a committed and strategic SEND Operational Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to play a key role in leading and developing high-quality provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Working closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff, and wider pastoral team, you will drive inclusive practice, ensure effective intervention strategies, and support outstanding outcomes for all learners.

Start Date: 1st September 2025

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the SENDCo in leading and developing SEND provision across the school.
  • Analyse data to identify needs, plan interventions, and monitor student progress, ensuring alignment with national and trust expectations.
  • Oversee provision maps, learning plans, and student passports, ensuring they are accurate and impactful.
  • Coordinate and review targeted interventions, including for social communication and complex needs.
  • Liaise with external agencies and support statutory processes, including EHCP and EADPR applications.
  • Lead on staff development, training, and guidance to ensure high-quality inclusive teaching (Quality First Teaching).
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers and maintain detailed records of support and progress.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure all students can access a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Support transition processes and develop strategies for unstructured times (e.g. break/lunch).
  • Line manage and appraise identified teaching assistants and coordinate daily cover where required.
  • Contribute to whole-school monitoring, reporting, and safeguarding responsibilities.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Proven experience working with students with SEND.
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies.
  • Experience of using data to inform interventions and improve outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
  • A commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and improving the life chances of young people.
